City of Ember

Bolt

Two movies I saw tonight and they are both awesome! Bolt had some of the funniest 3D animation I've seen so far and you can really see the improvement in 3D animation in general. Compare it to Toy Story or The Incredibles and you can really see the improvement. The story was amazingly cute too! One of the better Disney's of the last years.

Then City of Ember... A Sci-Fi sort of flick. It was soooo exciting with some unknown lead actors - who I thought were very good - and also Bill Murray and Tim Robbins - and the guy from Pirates with the wooden eye - hehe.
It was a really exciting movie which had me hooked until the end. Great movie. Not too long - 90 minutes - I advice everyone to see it - it is not a waste of time.

And other than that... I am doing great! Not much arty planned for the upcoming time, but I'm taking sewing classes and are looking forward to making my first cosplay outfits. I got a few ideas but do not know with what to start! Will keep you updated!

I really enjoyed Bolt but... I thought it was a bit too long (I guess my fav part was the beginning with all the mad-kick-ass-action :XD:) and the story was done and redone a hundred times... but they were very funny moments and good ideas :XD:
the City of Ember didn't had much advertissement (I never saw any trailer of it in my cinema) and yet I spent a very nice moment watching it

I also got hooked immediately to Bolt - with the awesome action in the beginning. And the characters were all so much fun!!

I never heard of City of Ember either! a friend just gave me the movie so I watched it and loved it. I did not see any advertising at all here in Belgium.

I thought City of Ember was GREAT! I did not read the book (did not even know it was based on the book until the end credits) - but it is a great movie. It has excitement more than anything. There is also a puzzle of a sort in there, like in the first HP's and in the Davinci Code (sort of). That's always fun in a movie. There's some clues to pick up on in every scene and that makes it loads of fun.

I've seen both and I whole-heartedly agree with you on them. Bolt is just adorable (I just loved Mittens =^.^=) City of Ember is a great movie for everyone and my husband says a good alternative title would be "Fallout: The Movie" due to the vault-like living and similar storyline, but it's still great for the young ones too.

Mittens is indeed adorable!! I loved her so much! (Great voice acting too on her behalf)

And yes, that alternate title your husband suggests is quite good! Though Fallout: The movie makes me think of a movie version of a game? And City of Ember is more "this is a movie" instead of "this is the remake of a game"

Fallout is a game (a series of them actually), and a very very good one. The sad thing about games made into movies is that they are never really done well; same can be said for movies made into games. If Fallout were to be made into a movie (and done right) it would basically be a clone of City of Ember. That's what my husband was meaning and I agree with him on that.

Oh - like that! I never played Fallout so I did not know the story was similar to City of Ember!
